O-Shot® for Sexual Dysfunction
“Until now, most research and treatment protocols to improve sexual function and enjoyment have been directed toward men. Finally, we have a safe and successful treatment for women. I'm excited to offer the O-Shot to my patients simply because it will help so many women.” - Warren B. Seiler III, MD
Over the last few decades, most research and treatments for sexual dysfunction have been directed toward men. Consider what you've heard in advertising for men: Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, penile implants and pumps. Finally there is something for women!
Would you like to have improvement in sensitivity, lubrication, ease and ability to achieve orgasm or do you suffer from different types of urinary incontinence or inability to hold back urine (i.e. women who pee when they sneeze)?
The O-Shot can help you!
These issues in women are way more common than you think. Over half of women struggle with some form of sexual dysfunction including dyspareunia (uncomfortable or painful sex), decreased libido (lack of sex drive) and weak orgasm or difficulty achieving orgasm. Although causes may include psychological and medical reasons, these struggles are commonly caused by age-related atrophy of tissue, decreased blood flow and other changes or trauma to the female anatomy.
What is the O-Shot?
The O-Shot is a non-surgical, safe and simple procedure performed by Dr. Seiler that uses the growth factors each woman has in her own body to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation to activate The Orgasm System.
The O-Shot procedure starts with a simple painless blood draw. Then, using a proprietary technique with an FDA-approved system, platelets are separated and concentrated. The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) containing growth factors is painlessly injected into an area near the clitoris and around the area of the upper vagina that is most important for the sexual response (the “O-spot” or "G-spot"). Due to Dr. Seiler's experience with numbing, he makes this a quick, painless procedure.
Is the O-Shot only for sexual dysfunction or urinary incontinence?
Many women with normal sexual function can have better sex with The O-Shot. The O-Shot is not just for women who have problems with sexual function, but also to enhance the sexual experience in a woman without sexual dysfunction.
Women with Lichen Sclerosus can also have sexual dysfunction and the O-Shot can be near to completely curative of Lichen Sclerosus
What is the Orgasm System?
Over the last several years, medical research has finally described the sexual function of the woman as an actual system. Prior to this research, little was known about the way sex works for a female.
Now we understand! There are several factors and functions that work together before, during, and after sex and this is why it's considered one of our body's systems (just like gastrointestinal or cardiopulmonary systems). Because of age and/or certain conditions, this system can become less efficient and dysfunctional. Concentrated PRP from your own blood has the ability to turn on the body's healing actions which will revitalize and rejuvenate tissue. Therefore The Orgasm System can return to normal and even heightened function. The system also functions better by an increase in the blood flow and growth factors to the tissue around the urethra that both increases sexual sensitivity (“the G-spot”) and prevents urinary incontinence.
What can the O-Shot do for you?
Although each woman's experience may differ in some ways, most patients report:
- Younger, smoother skin of the vulva (lips of the vagina)
- Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
- Stronger orgasm
- A tighter introitus (vaginal opening)
- Increased sexual desire
- More frequent orgasm
- Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm
- Increased natural lubrication
- Decreased pain for those with dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
- Decreased or resolved urinary incontinence (both urge and stress problems)
- Decrease/cure Lichen Sclerosus
The O-Shot versus the G-Shot?
Some injectors have tried to find and inject the “G-spot” called the G-Shot. The G-spot has been described as the sexual and erectile tissue above the urethra near the opening of the bladder. Not only is this difficult to find to directly inject, it also may be different for each woman. The G-Shot is simply a difficult attempt to inject non-FDA-approved filler into the G-spot to make it bigger in an attempt to increase sexual friction and sensitivity. This has been proven to be relatively unsuccessful in most patients. It is also associated with possible complications such as granuloma, urethral stricture, bladder occlusion and other damages to your anatomy. Plus, it generally doesn't work.
This is not to be confused with the O-Shot which uses your own PRP (growth factors and cytokines) to increase blood flow to the area and return your tissue and The Orgasm System back to normal healthy function. With the O-Shot, we are just making your Orgasm System naturally work better. There has never been a documented complication from the O-Shot.
What should I expect during my O-Shot procedure appointment?
During a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Seiler, he will discuss your medical, sexual history and the possible causes of your concerns. If you are a good candidate, the procedure may be performed the same day or scheduled for a future date. You should have had your routine yearly gynecological exam before getting the O-Shot.
At the time of treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area. Your blood is then painlessly drawn and prepared using an FDA-approved sterile system. Once your PRP is ready, Dr. Seiler then will inject a small amount of numbing and then inject the PRP.
Does the O-Shot hurt?
Although most patients are surprised, this really doesn't hurt. You may feel a slight pinch or warm sensation with no discomfort after. You can immediately resume normal physical exercise and sexual activity.
When will I see results?
Some women see an immediate increase in sexual desire and pleasure. In some patients, it may take several weeks to months. Results typically last an average of 12-18 months or more with one treatment. Occasionally patients may need a second “touch up” treatment within 6 to 12 months of initial treatment.
Will the O-Shot help Urinary Incontinence?
Yes. One of the greatest benefits of the O-Shot is that almost all women with urinary incontinence will see a near-complete to complete resolution of symptoms for a long period of time (1 to 4 years) with only one treatment.
Is the O-Shot safe?
Absolutely. Because we are using your own naturally occurring growth factors to rejuvenate tissue and blood vessels, there is no real risk of side effects or complications. There has never been a documented complication of this procedure in any medical literature. We have seen great results with no complications in our medical practice.
Because this treatment has not been studied in pregnancy, at this time, Dr. Seiler does not offer the O-Shot to pregnant women.
You should have had a normal gynecological exam within the last year and have not had any gynecological/female issues since.
Is this covered by insurance?
No. This is an elective procedure and is not yet covered by insurance.

My o shot was done in September 2015 by Dr. Runels in Fairhope. I’m 63, hysterectomized, with Sjogrens in addition to normal postmenopausal dryness. That, and thinning of the vaginal lining, made intercourse painful, bloody, and very rare. Also, I had no desire AND I peed my pants when I sneezed. One week after having the shot, I had to wake my husband up in the middle of the night to service me! Now my husband is a whole new man and treats me like he did when we were first married 22 years ago instead of treating me like a housekeeper. As amazing as the change in me is, the change regular sex has made on his outlook on life is night and day! BTW, I don’t pee myself anymore either! If the shot ever wears off, I’ll be first in line to get another one!
