What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a treatment that safely and permanently removes dark hair anywhere on the body.
What makes laser hair removal different at Seiler Skin?
At Seiler Skin, we use one of the most advanced devices, specifically designed to eliminate hair follicles – the High-speed LightSheer Duet. The LightSheer Duet uses innovative vacuum-assisted laser technology, combined with the largest spot size on any diode laser available, to comfortably and rapidly treat large areas of the body (back, legs, extensive bikini, etc.). It also has a hand-piece designed to treat small areas, including the face and neck.
There are hundreds of laser hair removal devices on the market potentially capable of eliminating the hair, but only a few exist that can actually destroy the follicle – resulting in permanent removal. Not all laser hair removal devices are created equally, and therefore results can vary widely.
Dr. Seiler commonly hears patients complain of poor results from other providers. The reason is simple –not all practitioners are trained specifically on laser procedures and do not fully appreciate the complexity of laser hair removal. It is commonly viewed as an “easy” procedure to receive and perform, when in reality it is a sophisticated treatment that requires advanced training from a specialist, like Dr. Seiler, to produce desired outcomes.
Who is a good candidate for laser hair removal?
With the LightSheer Duet, we can safely and effectively remove dark hairs from anywhere on the face and body, no matter the size of area treated, on all skin types.
Treating darker skin types, including but not limited to Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Native American and African American skin, is much more difficult than most patients and practitioners realize, and requires an even higher level of experience and device sophistication to produce safe and optimal results. We consistently produce positive results on darker skin types.
How many treatments will you need and what results will you see?
To achieve permanent (90 – 95 percent) hair reduction, six to eight treatments are generally recommended. However, after each treatment you will see thinning and reduction of unwanted hair. Darker-skinned patients and those with lighter and/or finer hairs may require a few additional treatments. The total number of treatments necessary is directly tied to your specific goals (e.g., moderate thinning to near complete reduction).
If you have tried laser hair removal from another provider, we understand you may be frustrated at the lack of results. The good news is laser hair removal actually works at Seiler Skin, thanks to our advanced device and extensive experience. Our patients report that they are amazed at their overall comfort level during the treatment, lack of downtime required and enjoy safe and significant results.
How much does laser hair removal cost?
“Professionals are expensive, but amateurs cost a fortune.”
Laser hair removal is extremely common and widely offered. Although there may be cheaper places to purchase laser hair removal, like with many things – you truly get what you pay for. Our device, coupled with deep experience, ensures you will get the best results money can buy.
An improperly performed, cheap treatment will only reduce the hair’s size and strength, and can actually inhibit our ability to permanently remove hair once this happens. Therefore, choosing the lowest-cost provider can have irreversible consequences.
At Seiler Skin, laser hair removal cost ranges between $150 – $200 for small areas, $200 – $300 for medium areas and $300 – $400+ for large areas. We also offer a number of multi-treatment and multi-area packages.
During your consultation, we will further discuss cost and expected results based on your hair/skin type, number of areas treated and overall reduction goals.
