WHAT IS VIVACE?
Vivace is an FDA-approved microneedling radio frequency treatment that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, improving the appearance of common skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, texture, scars and discoloration. As opposed to laser energy, Vivace utilizes radio frequency through a microneedling tip to heat tissue, therefore stimulating collagen remodeling and new collagen formation. The radio frequency is transmitted deep into the tissue without hurting the superficial skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Vivace is also able to treat the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue, which in turn minimizes overall downtime.
Vivace is not intended as a replacement for the Vampire Facial. While both use microneedling technology, each treats different concerns and skin conditions. Dr. Seiler and our team will work with you to determine which/if both treatments should be part of your regimen.
WHAT DOES VIVACE TREAT?
The main benefit of Vivace is its ability to treat the lower face, neck and eyelids through non-invasive means. These areas are commonly difficult to treat with laser technology alone, with other devices either not yielding optimal results or requiring a much longer downtime. Vivace is able to treat these areas to restore collagen and reduce skin laxity in a more effective, comfortable way for the patient.
Vivace also treats other common skin concerns, including:
- Fine Lines
- Skin laxity
- Pore size
- Uneven skin texture
- Acne/acne scarring
- Traumatic/Incisional scars
WHY DID DR. SEILER BRING VIVACE TO THE PRACTICE?
As with every other treatment we offer at Seiler Skin, Dr. Seiler conducted extensive research into Vivace for the last several years to make sure it was the right device to treat our patients in a safe and effective way. Similar devices have been available on the market for years, but this latest version is truly the best fit for treating fine lines/wrinkles, scarring, discoloration and more. Vivace is able to deliver incredible results for patients with much less downtime and minimal discomfort compared to other technologies. We want to make your experience during and after treatment the best possible, and with its cutting edge and state-of-the-art technology, Vivace fits the bill.
Additionally, Vivace helps us better treat the eyelids, lower face and neck — three areas that show signs of aging the most but can be difficult to address. Through its unique microneedling technology, which uses 36 small, coated needles that minimize damage to the skin, Vivace is able to restore elastin and collagen to the lower face and neck to ultimately produce a fuller, more youthful appearance. Energy is fired only at the tip of the needle, preventing damage to the superficial skin, and can also be fired with different functions and settings. This is different from other devices and allows a more tailored, tolerable approach for the patient.
By balancing comfort, ease of treatment, minimal downtime, tailored approach and lower investment for patients, Vivace is truly an incredible addition to the lineup of treatments available at Seiler Skin.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF VIVACE?
We recommend patients start with a complete series of three treatments at the beginning, but only after a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Seiler. These initial treatments are performed every four to six weeks, with each one taking about two hours. After initial treatments, maintenance is recommended every six to 12 months.
Patients should see a noticeable difference in fine lines, wrinkles and pore size after treatment, with the most significant results in laxity improvement peak around six months after the series of treatments and can last for years. More intensive skin concerns such as significant wrinkles, laxity and scarring may take longer for results to appear.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT?
Prior to any treatment, Dr. Seiler and his providers will walk a patient through a thorough consultation process to assess their concerns and determine a treatment plan. We start the treatment by applying a topical anesthetic to dull sensation and minimize pain. Treatments last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes after the numbing period, depending on which areas of the face and/or body are being treated.
Following treatment, we recommend patients minimize sun exposure for five-seven days — a much lower downtime compared to laser treatments. Patients may experience some slight redness and sensitivity following treatment but generally have minimal downtime one to two days after. To ensure optimal healing and results, the Alastin Beauty Regimen is part of the pre- and post-treatment skincare regimen.
Patients can expect some results within weeks of their first series of treatments, but full results take six to 12 months and just keep getting better with time! We recommend patients come back in for maintenance routines every six to 12 months depending on Dr. Seiler’s recommendation.
