Vivace is an FDA-approved microneedling radio frequency treatment that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, improving the appearance of common skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, texture, and scars. The main benefit of Vivace is its ability to treat the lower face, neck and eyelids through non-invasive means.
As opposed to laser energy, Vivace utilizes radio frequency through a microneedling tip to heat tissue, therefore stimulating collagen remodeling and new collagen formation. This controlled radio frequency energy is transmitted deep into the tissue without hurting the superficial skin, minimizing overall downtime and discomfort. Vivace is not just transforming the way we treat skin at our practice, but the industry at large.
WHAT DOES VIVACE TREAT?
Vivace treats a number of concerns, including:
- Fine Lines
- Skin laxity
- Pore size
- Uneven skin texture
- Acne/acne scarring
- Traumatic/Incisional scars
THE SEILER SKIN DIFFERENCE
Dr. Seiler conducted extensive research into Vivace to make sure it was the right device to treat our patients in a safe, effective way. Vivace is able to deliver incredible results for patients with much less downtime and minimal discomfort compared to other technologies.
Additionally, Vivace helps us better treat the eyelids, lower face and neck — three areas that show signs of aging the most but can be difficult to address. Through its unique microneedling technology, which uses 36 small, coated needles that minimize damage to the skin, Vivace is able to restore elastin and collagen to the face and neck to ultimately produce a fuller, more youthful appearance. Energy is fired only at the tip of the needle, preventing damage to the superficial skin, and can also be fired with different functions and settings. This is different from other devices and allows a more tailored, tolerable approach for the patient.
By balancing comfort, ease of treatment, minimal downtime, tailored approach and lower investment for patients, Vivace is truly an incredible addition to the lineup of treatments available at Seiler Skin.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR VIVACE?
Vivace is a great treatment for patients looking for an alternative to laser technologies that typically result in a longer recovery time. It is especially beneficial for those experiencing volume loss or greater laxity in the lower face, neck and eyelids, areas that can sometimes be difficult to treat with traditional lasers. As with any treatment, Dr. Seiler conducts an extensive consultation with each patient to determine how Vivace may benefit them and what a treatment plan entails.
WHAT IS THE VIVACE PROCESS LIKE?
Vivace works best by starting with a series of three treatments, with maintenance treatments every 6-12 months, though that will be determined during a consultation with Dr. Seiler. We start the treatment by applying a topical anesthetic to minimize pain. Treatments last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes after the numbing period, depending on which areas of the face and/or body are being treated.
Following treatment, we recommend patients minimize sun exposure for five-seven days — much lower compared to laser treatments. Patients may experience some slight redness and sensitivity following treatment but generally have minimal downtime one to two days after. To ensure optimal healing and results, the Alastin Beauty Regimen is part of the pre- and post-treatment skincare regimen.
Patients can expect some results within weeks of their first series of treatments, but full results take six to 12 months, and continue to improve with time. We recommend patients come back in for maintenance routines every six to 12 months depending on Dr. Seiler’s recommendation.
